Well after watching a movie like om shanti om, this is a movie which put my faith back into indian cinema. This is a movie which makes you sit back and think about the present day children,the competition and the pressure they go through. This is a brilliant effort by Aamir khan[I dont like to like him ,but have to! He is excellent both as a director,in bringing out the sensitivity of a 10 year old boy and also as an actor portraying a sensitive art teacher.

This is about a boy who is dyslexic [Having done a short time diploma in this subject,I could easily relate ]This child is being branded as a duffer,idiot etc for not getting good marks and also failing in 3rd standard! and always being scolded by the teachers and parents.[how can a teacher ignore such a blatant learning disability is beyond me definitely!} The child keeps fighting with his neighbourhood friends [what else one can expect from a child who does not have any selfconfidence in him] and the parents ultimately put him into a boarding school as a punishment! The saga continues there also ,till a teacher by the name of Ram shankar nikumbh comes in as an art teacher who himself is dyslexic and really helps the boy.He goes to unusual lengths of going and meeting the parents .Finally bringing the boy's extraordinary artistic talents ,the movie ends on a happy note.

coming to the acting part, the boy Darsheel Safary is brlilliant, a natural and he really can emote at this age! { but in a recent interview of his, I read that he does not want to become an actor when he grows up ! }

The parents especially the mother, Tisca chopra is too good ,the father too has put in his best as a strict father who finally comes in terms with his son's disabiltiy . The brother has also acted quite well being the all rounder much appreciated elder son of the family.

Aamir here has portrayed a simple middle class family, the normal Indian mother who is always worried about her two sons and nothing else.Her complete life revolves around her home,children. Here Aamir has shown a supportive ,loving elder brother who does his best for the younger brother as much as he can understand him.

And greatness of Big B in allowing to use Abhishek Bacchan's name ,who had some learning disorder when he was young.

On the whole please do watch this movie it is worth a dekho!
